Diet Diary Day - entry 14

Yeesh. Lack of disciplined exercise and very erratic eating equalled a very disappointing weigh in this week. That's okay, I can handle a setback or two. I'm already back in the work out rhythm, and man, did I miss it. Want to know what else I missed? Veggies. I ate a LOT of protein last week - grilled chicken sandwiches, the infamous double cheeseburger, and beans. I also ate more carbs than usual, although I really tried to eat good carbs versus sugar laden ones.

Instead, this post I'll be focusing on the positive. Last week, just on a whim, I tried on my wedding dress. It fit. I don't mean that I could squeeze into it (like I had to do on my wedding day with assorted shapewear and control top panty hose, I mean I stepped into it and zipped it up. While NOT wearing shapewear. It was a very good day. And the shorts I could barely get on this time last year? I put them on to drive to North Carolina and I could easily pull them up and down without unbuttoning or unzipping them. No matter what the number on the scale says, that's progress. Also progress? On the BMI scale I'm down a category. Yippee!

This is me, in 2001, in my wedding dress that now looks better than that. Not bad for a year's work, and a good sign that I'm not content at this size like I thought I would be.

And for awhile, I'm going to be skipping a weekly diet diary day and switch to monthly. It seems silly to have a diet diary day when I really don't have much to say. But for all of you who have been reading and been so supportive - thank you, thank you, thank you. My shrinking hips and thighs appreciate it very much!

That is awesome progress Brooke! And exciting. BTW, even though the picture was sort of small, I can see that you were a beautiful bride. And you're still a beautiful girl.

Weight loss is a b$%ch. My will power after kids? Non existant. Surprisingly, after making NO EFFORT AT ALL, I didn't lose any weight for our trip to California next week. One where I have to wear a - gulp - bathing suit. My husband is going to get back from Afghanistan for his break, all hot and defined, and me? Sexy rolls, oh so sexy rolls.

Kelsey -

:giggling:
Oh, I so feel your pain! My hubby complains about his love handles and I'm all like, "where? where are any handles of any sort on you? Where?!?!" :snort:

Have a great time on vacation with your hubby...deployments are tough. And I'm sure you look great!
