Workout Wednesday, the Holiday Thursday edition

Yeah, I know, it's Thursday. I spent all day driving yesterday with the kids and no dvd player. Other than their habit of insisting that I look at something they were doing which required that I have a neck a la Elastigirl from the Incredibles, it was a great trip. Not much of a workout, though.

Workouts last week were good - I did a lot more cardio than anything and I did enough eating to embarrass myself. Old habits are doggone hard to break as it turns out. Seriously, too bad there aren't nutritional pills like the Jetson's had. If I could figure out how to make food about nutrition instead of other things, I think I'd have way more luck with this weight thing. Plus, I am having the worst time getting past this number on the scale. It will not budge. SO frustrating!

Since I'm traveling and not really working out this next week, I can just stick to the Weight Watchers plan, move around as much as possible, and hope for the best. Life can get back to normal (whatever normal is supposed to be these days) next week. It's a marathon, not a sprint, right? ::Snort!::

Do you check your measurements, not just the scale? I've found that sometimes when I think I'm making progress, I'm actually losing inches even though my weight on the scale doesn't move.

And if I may be so bold as to make a recommendation without having been asked for one, Zumba has been amazing for getting in and staying in shape for me. I've never gone to a class because I don't "do" the gym, but I have the dvd set at home and it's fantastic. I lost 2 inches off my waist in the first week and a half or so.

Ooooh, I love Zumba! I agree that it can totally reshape your body. I've hit some sort of block, though, and have been battling to get past a certain weight and measurement for a while now. Stubborn belly fat. GAH! I really think that Weight Watchers is going to help me get past it because it helps me to have to go and weigh in in front of someone. Plus I can have them look at my food diary (which seems to be essential for my losing weight) and see where I can improve. Any and all suggestions are always welcome!
